PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Performs general maintenance tasks and custodial duties including cleaning carpets, floors, glass, lighting fixtures and all finished surfaces and trim.  Cleans restrooms, classrooms, cafeterias and meeting rooms.  Inspects all doors for loose or broken hardware and repairs or replaces as necessary.  Changes lamps in various types of electric light fixtures.  Perform minor maintenance within the school building.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge and/or experience with the commercial cleaning process. Knowledge or ability to quickly learn tools and procedures of facilities and grounds cleaning, and maintenance tasks. Ability to work independently and as a member of the custodial team and follow through on routine tasks. Must be able to read and write and follow oral and written instructions.  Must have a valid driver’s license, with a good driving record. Completion of a high school education or GED; and any equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the above noted knowledge, skill, and ability.
