GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Position is responsible for instructing secondary school students in the field of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC-R) and creating a safe and orderly learning environment. Position motivates students to develop an interest in and an appreciation of the HVAC-R field. Position develops knowledge, skills, and talents of students, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques appropriate to students’ interests and abilities.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a high school diploma and minimum of three to five years of verifiable experience in the HVAC-R trade. An Associate’s Degree (AAS) in Technical Studies with specialization in HVAC-R or the equivalent is preferred. Must qualify for a Virginia Teaching Certificate to teach HVAC-R courses.  Possess a Universal EPA certification and have achieved Master or Journeyman Status as a HVAC technician and Master or Journeyman Status as a Gas fitter.
