GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Provides administrative and program support to the GSST Director and the Governor’s School for Science and Technology. This is an 11-month position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE CLASS
- Point of contact for GSST
- Provide clerical support for the Director, Instructors and Pre-Admission program.
- Camp Coordinator for GSST Summer Camp
- Serve as the contact for GSST website and social media accounts.
- Provide clerical support for divisional recruitment presentations (GSST Parent Informational Sessions).
- Provide clerical support with Power School Pre-Admission and GSST online application system
- Assist with the creation of departmental specific publications.
- Provide clerical support for major events i.e. New Student Orientation/Open House, Jr Parent Mentorship Night, Senior Research Symposium, GSSST Junior Science & Engineering Fair, Mentorship Appreciation & Academic Awards Ceremony, School Counselor Breakfast, College Planning Parent Seminars.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with an ability to become familiar with organization-specific programs and software. Proficiency in Google Suite applications is a must.
- Comprehensive knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Strong time management and planning skills
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Ability to network and interact with community and business leaders
- Ability to multi-task with several assignments
- Must have good organizational, human relations, and communication skills.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma (Associate degree in business management or a related discipline is desirable) and considerable progressively responsible experience as a school and administrative assistant or office manager; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the above-noted knowledge, skill, and ability.
