GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

The position is responsible for developing, providing, coordinating, and integrating technology-based staff development to the instructional staff for CTE, GSST, and Center for Autism and Newport Academy. The candidate consults with and advises program leadership regarding the design of technology-based staff development programs, establishes learning objectives, develops training materials, coaches employees, and assesses the impact of training sessions. The position will contribute to the planning, development, and coordination of NHREC marketing campaigns and manage internal and external digital marketing content and assist in the production of content and messages used for communication by the organization. The Integration and Marketing Specialist will manage and develop content for NHREC websites and social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. with consistent brand messaging and department goals in mind, and ensure content is updated at regular intervals and maintained accurately. The position will also be responsible for developing the annual organizational report and the development of the bi-weekly newsletter.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Consults with administrators, teachers, and other division employees to determine current and anticipated professional development needs involving online and hybrid teaching and learning applications.
  • Establishes learning objectives and goals for staff development sessions and develops training outlines and timelines.
  • Determines the most appropriate instructional method, utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and applicability and effectiveness of such methods as individual coaching, large and small group instruction, lectures, interactive training, and transfer techniques.
  • Selects or develops appropriate training materials such as handouts, training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, and reference works.
  • Markets, and encourages participation in, upcoming staff development initiatives and activities.
  • Schedules training sessions, develops registration procedures, ensures that the facility is set up, ensures that employees are notified, and coordinates other practical elements involved with planning professional development activities.
  • Research, write, and edit content for a variety of internal and external communications, including websites, social media platforms, electronic newsletters, print publications, and video productions; collaborate with multiple teams to lead communications projects.
  • Assist the Executive Assistant with NHEF Golf Classic planning and coordination
  • Update and manage the NHREC website and mobile app integration
  • Work with Regional Career Specialists to plan, coordinate, and provide support for program recruitment.
  • Work with Human Resource Specialists to plan, coordinate, and provide support for talent acquisition and recruitment.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree and must possess a Virginia collegiate professional teaching license with a minimum of three years of teaching experience
  • Background in instructional technology, to include digital communication tools
  • Experience in the preparation, delivery, and evaluation of professional development to faculty or other groups
  • Experience with various types of communications and marketing channels including social media, electronic newsletters, websites, etc.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Computer operations skills, including working knowledge of the Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Word and Excel. Advance knowledge of Google suite applications, (to include Google Classroom), Canvas LMS, and mobile app integration
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or ability to provide own transportation
