GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Responsible for recruiting efforts to support the In-School and Out-of-School Programs under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).  Responsibilities include: recruiting applicants for programs; assisting in determining applicant’s eligibility under Federal regulations; assisting students in the application and enrollment processes; creating and implementing a realistic Individual Service Strategy (ISS); preparing and managing client files to ensure contract compliance;  informing the community on programs available under the WIOA; developing community partnerships to best serve youth in jurisdictions served by the Youth Workforce Center and assisting in the monitoring of participant activities.  Responsible for the development of marketing materials for the Youth Program under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  (May not include all duties performed.)

  • Recruit students for all WIOA programs under the Youth Workforce Center.
  • Develop marketing and recruiting materials to communicate YWC programs to students, parents and community agencies.
  • Create and implement a realistic Individual Service Strategy (ISS) to address employability planning and/or completion of education/training, support services and identify available resources
  • Manage effective and cordial communications with school divisions, community partners and agencies.
  • Assist students in preparing required documents for entry into WIA programs.
  • Assist the YWC staff to ensure prospective applicants meet program requirements and established goals.
  • Assist students and agency representatives with developing and maintaining student records.
  • Conduct training and orientation programs on youth programs for school officials, parents and community agencies.
  • Assist the YWC staff in maintaining student records.
  • Conduct life skills, vocational, occupational and employment counseling/coaching with groups and individuals
  • Schedule and conduct workshops including work readiness and various job readiness workshops (e.g. resume and cover letter writing, interviewing skills, job search techniques, keeping your job, etc.)
  • Performs related duties as required or assigned by the Program Manager or other appropriate administrators.

 MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum BS degree in in human services, sociology, psychology, social work, education, guidance, counseling or closely related field is required. Experience in case management and training preferred

Must have working knowledge of computers to include Microsoft Office Suite.

Good knowledge of recruitment procedures and practices to include the use of social media, computer technology utilization, LAN and database management methods and procedures.

Ability to accurately maintain data files and to prepare reports from files and records.

Must be able to work effectively at a number of locations during the workday.

Reliable transportation required with a valid Driver’s license.
